Don't worry everyone, Cheryl will save me from polygamy!

It's always super fun when you go over to an investigator's house and they try and inform you about all the polygamy groups in Utah, and they're so concerned for your well-being and tell you that they were planning on rescuing you.

"Wow I'm so glad that we live in New York where the cops would come and arrest those awful polygamists! Utah sounds horrible!" -Cheryl, as she is sending her daughter off to the club.

"Now you're going to take the 31 bus down until it turns right, then you're going to get off on that first stop and go across the street to the liquor store and the pizzeria and then get on the 34 bus, which will take you right on home!" -a less active lady named Doreatha who decided that telling us this 20 times (literally) wasn't enough, so she had her friend go with us to show us the way. (It ended up taking an HOUR AND A HALF to go home that way hahahahaha)

"Lord I ask you for world peace world peace world peace and please bless all the people and all the shootings and all that...Satan stuff. And Lord you know I am a handful but I praise you and I ask you to bless me this day." -Cheryl, while me and sister Atkinson are laughing hysterically

But let's just talk about cheryl for a quick minute because wow I love her. Cheryl has taken it upon herself to be our mother ever since we told her that we only call our moms twice a year and email them every week. She is always feeding us random food (like where do you even get squeezable oatmeal packs) and making sure we're getting home safe. She has also taken it upon herself to inform us of everything we're missing out on in the world, including things like Facebook (surprise we actually know what that is) and the latest shooting. She told us she's going to come visit us in Utah when we get married, even though she is terrified of Utah. Goodness I love that lady. Now if we could only get her to be baptized haha.

Well. The work goes on! We set a bap date with a super cool lady named Latotia and it should definitely go through! Joanna....haha. We're still working with her a lot, but she isn't willing to do the necessary things to get baptized so her date is on hold for a while. But trust me, it will be a very happy day when she does get baptized!! Our other two bap dates are progressing at their own slow pace, but they are getting there!
I love being a missionary! Even if I am completely exhausted every day of my life and have to essentially swim through the humidity!

I've seen people that have chosen to make their lives so hard and so miserable, and I've seen people that have seemingly nothing to be happy about but are the most happy people. It's all what you make it, and that's what I'm learning too!!

5. We were going into an appointment and we forgot to throw away our Arizonas (also there are no trash cans in the projects, because all the trash would end up on the floor anyway) so we just set them down until we were done hahaha
