I don't have a ton of time this week because we are spending the day in MANNNHATTAN wowowowow I love this place! My determination to live here someday has just gotten rekindled! Like I'm literally sitting outside the temple eating waffles and if you have any idea of how life could be better than that you let me know and I'll tell you you're wrong. This week definitely had its ups and downs but it was wonderful! Downs= Saturday(don't worry, it's nothing a box of two Bros can't fix) ups=teaching Joanna. We had the most amazing lesson with her yesterday when we went over the baptismal interview questions with her in the church. The spirit was SO STRONG when we walked into the font with her and told her this is where she would be in about three weeks! We were all crying and it was so great. I was reading a talk the other day by Alvin R. Dyer called the challenging  and testifying missionary and it reminded me of joanna. "the Lord knows w...

It's all good in the hood (literally)

HELLO HELLO! What a great week, I hope you had a good one as well! I'll just share some highlights from these last 7 days! 1. Set a bap date with Michelle! She's a lady that hermanas tracted into a while ago and then finally referred to us. We met with her this past week and she wanted to come to church since she had been to a ward in Manhattan before....but didn't quite appreciate the of a Bronx ward haha. But then we met with her and we're like we need you! Each ward has its diversities and then invited her to be baptized and she said yes! Woohoo! 2. A man in a bus was quizzing us with trivia and I learned that the Bronx is only 1 of four official places that begin with 'the' (the Bronx, the Vatican, the Netherlands, the democratic Republic of the Congo). Well the things you learn in THE Bronx hahahaha 3. I officially became a Bronx missionary after stepping in a puddle of both urine and throw up on the same day #theprojects 4. Elder Bennet of...

^^I get comments about my height daily. Idk why...Maybe because of the height difference between me and sis atkinson? (She's 5'0 flat) Hello everyone!! Guess what!! Week 1 is DOWN! To prove it, sweet sister spendlove even made a cake for me that says it! (Picture attached) Wow let me just start off by saying how much I love the Bronx!!! I feel so blessed every day to be here! The people are so ready and so open to the gospel it's incredible! It's sad, but their circumstances help open their hearts to any available light. Also, I'm definitely a fan of the daily warnings like "you girls best not be here after dark! You go on home now!" And the "hey God bless you and if you need any help you give us boys here a holler!" Apparently some of the gangs here call us Jesus sisters and swear to have our back. It's so great. Like let me tell you, we get more doors held open for us here than I did at byui. YEAH. like the scariest people here are...

don't worry i've only seen two shootings so far (jkjkjkjkjk)

hello. WOW. So much to say hahahaha Well, let's update you a little bit. I got to New York on Monday, and spent the night at the mission president's home- and I LOVE them!!!! They are so wonderful!! President kinda reminds me of Beeson hahaha I was dying becuase upstate ny is literally the prettiest place (besides havasupai) on EARTH. I am already planning to move here when I get back because it is just adorable- especially the city of white plains oh hannnah I was dying. Honestly, at this point I would be fine if I never made it to Jamaica. Serious. (also side note: luggage + subways is probably the most exciting thing i've ever experienced hahaha) Anyway, wednesday morning we had an interview with president and met our trainers and sister atkinson is literally just the cutest person ever!!! I adore her! Oh, and guess where I am? THE  BRONX Yeah....I actually love it!!!! Like a lot!! And it was funny because the day before Sister S...
