^I've been singing this so much that sister Atkinson (who has never listened to Hamilton before) sings it better than I do now haha Hey hey, I'll keep it short today because we're in Manhattan! It still literally blows my mind that we can hop on a subway and end up in my favorite place in the world, like it's kinda the best. Today is the day I promised myself that no matter what it takes, I will live in Manhattan someday and be successful and influential. Yep. Also I just want you all to know that I ate a salad today in the upper east side and cried because that is my definition of happiness. And then walked down fifth Avenue, went into anthropologie for a while, went to Momofuku milk bar and got cereal shakes, and now I'm writing this from Chelsea market. That's all. As for investigators we have been craazzzy busy this week hahaha like we set four baptismal dates and have just been all over the place. We dropped Cheryl (you better believe...

Don't worry everyone, Cheryl will save me from polygamy!

It's always super fun when you go over to an investigator's house and they try and inform you about all the polygamy groups in Utah, and they're so concerned for your well-being and tell you that they were planning on rescuing you. "Wow I'm so glad that we live in New York where the cops would come and arrest those awful polygamists! Utah sounds horrible!" -Cheryl, as she is sending her daughter off to the club.  Some fun quotes of the week: "I'm grateful to God every day for waking me up and letting me make better choices than the day before." -Steve, as he is rolling a joint "Now you're going to take the 31 bus down until it turns right, then you're going to get off on that first stop and go across the street to the liquor store and the pizzeria and then get on the 34 bus, which will take you right on home!" -a less active lady named Doreatha who decided that telling us this 20 times (literally) wasn't enough, ...

Sisters are 9x more effective than elders, but the spirit is 600x more effective than both!

Hello! What's up! Hola from the Bronx! We have seen so many miracles from this week as we've turned our planning style from us to the spirit. Pro tip: spirit always works better than anything we can do. On Saturday we were having a rough day, everyone had cancelled, and finally at the end of the day we had an awkward 30 minutes before we had to get home. We had no idea what to do, so we said a quick prayer and decided to look up a former in a close by building. The elders that had tracted into her had left some confusing notes about where she lived, but we knocked her door and she wasn't there. We have a new policy where we knock two doors at every building we visit, so we knocked another one and no one was home, and then we knocked another one (actually I just straight up pushed it open cuz the bell was stuck hahaha) and it was the lady we were looking for! Crazy! And then she scheduled an appointment for next week! So we left the building but still had more time, so ...

Gunshots? Fireworks? Ehhh don't care

SISTER SWINDLE'S STATISTICAL REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE: In one day I: walk 3 miles touch around 70 nasty bus and subway poles hear the f-word every 4 seconds be cancelled on around 18 times walk up 103 stairways drench my clothes with about 6 liters of sweat be cat-called every 9 minutes say hello approximately 2,485 times Eat 48 frozen grapes You probably weren't too interested in hearing any of that but there you go haha Hello! I'll keep it short today! What a wonderful week! Holidays are slightly awkward on missions because no one wants to talk to you, but besides that we had a great 4th of July!  The streets were eerily quiet and it was a pretty cool temperature so just kind of a weird day in general, but we had a zone meeting and got to wear our fabulous Bronx pants so no complaints here! As for investigators! So wow you have missed a lot. Wow. Um so let's just say that Joanna's bap date was supposed to be this Saturday but then there were some ...
