alrighty whiteyyyyy

This is a common phrase in our companionship because, well, we're white. Which everyone likes to remind me quite often ("hey Sister Swindle...you're like really white. Like milky white")

This week has been an adventure, like always. Mostly because we had a lizard in our apartment for three days and then got it out only after several long minutes of screaming, rearranging the apartment, and waving brooms hysterically.

Can I just tell you the coolest story about how the gospel saves lives?? So we have this incredible investigator named Damion that is getting baptized on the 24th. Last week we taught him the Law of Chastity and the Word of Wisdom. He not only committed to live them, but to start staying away from places that might tempt him to become involved in these things. This week, he came in late to a lesson and told us that he had just been to visit the family of one of his friends that had just been murdered the night before. He said that his friend was in a bad area and was only defending himself but ended up being killed. Then he looked us straight in the eyes and said, "Sisters, he was my close friend. If I hadn't told you last week that I would stay out of places like that, then I would have for sure been with him that night and could have gotten killed as well." WOW. It was such a testament to me of how much the Lord compensates for what he asks us to do. God is good, man.

Another fun story this week is when Sister Fawson and I were driving out in the boonies of our area and asked some guy if there was a shortcut to get to another place nearby. He was like ya man just take this tiny dirt road and turn left at bath and keep going till you get there. Turns out this road goes through the total BOONIES of the hills of Jamaica and we spend 45 minutes trying to get to our next appointment and also not get into a car accident (the truck couldn't even fit on some parts of the 'road'). It was super pretty though and we got a taste of how huge our area is!! (there are no maps/addresses here so we really have no idea haha)

have a wonderful week! read your scriptures and hug your mom!
